About Me

About me...gosh, where do I start? I guess a formal introduction is in order.

Hi everyone! I'm Banzell Smith. And yes, committed-4-life.com is my baby.

I know some of you have been wondering, "Who is this person?"

Well, here I am at last. This site was born out of a deep desire to help married couples stay together.

After seeing my parents' marriage of 53 years still thriving, I know it can be done. Yes, even today, it can still be done.

How did the site come about? As I stated on my home page, I'm not a licensed marriage counselor. I'm actually a registered nurse, and I've been practicing in various clinical areas for 15 years.

Wow, where does the time go? As you well know, a lot has changed within the health care arena over the years. But I digress...I'm supposed to be telling you about me.

While becoming disillusioned with nursing, I became discouraged when friends' marriages were ending in divorce. Their husbands were simply leaving them for other women...just walking away from them and their children.

I began to realize it's too easy for spouses to give up on each other. No one's willing to go through growing pains. Everyone thinks their marriage is going to mature overnight while on their honeymoon. It just doesn't happen like that. I didn't grow up overnight...neither will my marriage.

My 'Better' Half

Meet my husband, Eric. We've been married for 16 years. Although we've been together as a couple for 23 years.

He has been my rock, my greatest source of inspiration, my source of joy and sometimes, my source of pain.

I don't pretend to know all of the answers. What I'm sharing with you on this site has come from my many years of trial-and-error in my own marriage. It hasn't always been easy for us. There have been times when I've wanted to walk away. I'm sure Eric has felt that way, too.

But we understand we're in this for the long haul. Our marriage is what we make of it, plain and simple. I'm not perfect. Neither is he. But we're a team. I love him tremendously, and I can't imagine my life without him being a major part of it.

I just want to convey that same sense of undying love, devotion and commitment to everyone. Yes, take your marriage seriously but lighten up. Have some fun!

Enter SBI!

Okay, back to more about me. So, I'd been thinking of how to get my message across. And one day a co-worker told me about SBI!. I checked it out, was sold on the idea...and here I am!

SBI! makes the entire process so incredibly easy. It allows me to do what I do best, the writing. I leave all the complicated technical stuff to the program. While allotting the time to write hasn't always been easy, the program always works as it should...if I work it.

There's no other medium than the internet that would allow me to reach a potential audience of all the married couples in the WORLD! It boggles my mind when I think about it. While I'm asleep, people are still visiting my site and gaining information that will help their marriages. And SBI! is the tool that is making it happen for me.

So, that's my 'about me' story thus far. My site is still in its infancy, but I'm already seeing my hard work come to fruition. You know, the same can happen for you. What's your passion in life?
